Charity Health Check

In any charitable organisation there are likely to be a number of potentially undiagnosed issues which may not be apparent from an internal perspective:

  • Risk of liability

  • Risk of fraud

  • Risk of corruption

  • Reputational risks that might affect public / donor confidence

  • Staff dissatisfaction and lack of motivation / low morale

  • Conflicts between the Board and the staffing team

  • Difficulties in recruiting / retaining volunteers

  • Inefficient use of funds

  • Difficulties in achieving expansion

  • Concerns regarding the management of staff

  • Low success rate in fundraising

  • Low public profile

  • Trustees are lacking in confidence or the necessary skills

One of the best ways of checking to see if your organisation is maximising its potential in all areas (see Aspects of a Charitable Organisation) is to hire me to carry out a full health review.

Initially, I will ask you to commit some time to answering a number of questions in order to get some very indepth information on the background workings of your charity. Once the questionnaire has been completed, I will advise you / make recommendations on any areas in which you can develop in order to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation.

Should you choose to further engage my services, I can then subsequently assist you with actually producing the strategies, documents, or procedures etc necessary.  Thereby giving you peace of mind whilst you continue to channel your very limited resources into doing what you do best ie delivering a service to your beneficiaries.
